hoo ha…. here I am at last!
Finally…. here in the UK…. get through the flight and airport whathaveyous without much of a scratch (though I did have to wait for a long long time~!)
The view from the plane was spactacular.. as usual… took some photos with my Palm. Might post it up one of these days…
One of the best feelings was when the Pilot announced that we’ll be arriving Heathrow in 15 minutes, and the plane started to descend. At the time, all you could see below was a sea of clouds…. then as the plane dipped slowly down, we on top, then in the middle of a fluffy cloud… Everywhere you look it’s grey…. nothing but plain grey. You can feel the slight forward tilt as the plane dropped even further…. the gradually, the cloud thinned out…. slowly the ground came into focus. There, miles upon miles upon miles of little winding streets, green oasis among the red brown rooftops interspaced with tall steel buildings that reflected the sun, as far as the eye can see.
I gaped a little. This was the first time I’ve actually seen London on a plane when there was still light…. The previous times I’ve been here it was always dark by the time we reached it. Sure, those tiny specs of light in the black is very awesome…. but the detail I was able to make out this time was truely fantastic! Cranning my neck a little I tried to spot an end to this little toylike structure way down below me.
A little further on, I suddenly spotted Buckingham Palace! Then it was the Tower Bridge…. the Millenium Bridge… the London Eye… It’s a pity I couldn’t see Trifalgar Square… I wonder what it looks like from the top..?
As the plane went further North, the green spaces between the browns gradually became larger… and larger.. and larger…. And the structures appeared bigger and bigger as the plane continued its descent. Before I knew it, there was a slight bump that signaled the touchdown… First thought that came to me at the moment was, ‘Cool~ Good pilot!~’ Oddly enough…..
The airport was jam-packed… Took me near to 2 hours just to get through all the procedures and stuff before getting to go out of the arrival area to meet up with my aunt and uncle, who have been waiting for me for quite some time…. probably wondering what on earth was going on, and why haven’t I came out yet? *grin*
Anyway, got home just fine…. ate some late dinner… had a good nights sleep….
