Millenium Bridge at Newcastle

Friday, November 24th, 2006

4small This is one of the landmarks of Newcastle/Gateshead. The Millenium Bridge. More photos can be had in this link…. But I’m posting just 1 here.

Was supposed to have this lighting festival tonight…. but it was raining, so I guess the mayor had things going on fast… so when my friend and I arrived, it was over….. *grins* We didn’t know what was going on at the time…. Saw the Mayor leaving when we were faffing around taking photos of the christmas tree…. Ah well… c’est la vie.

At least we took some photos!

birthday tea party

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

Dsc04671 Had a little birthday tea party for Angela (the blond girl with the light blue sweater up front) at my kitchen in Leazes Terrace.

Was fun, having so many people over to sit around and eat and chat. Most (if not all) are Media students, whether it’s media+journalism/PR or CCC+media.

As you can see, it’s all girls…. Think we scared away the 2 boys~ *grins* They came and went real fast…. *chuckles* Go girl power!

And as usual, I’m the one with the camera, but this time, I’m in the photo~! Cause I was holding a dvcam, and not the digicam! This photo was taken by Paulina…. So warm cheers to her as well!

Leazes Park

Sunday, November 19th, 2006

Ok… a photo update here. Went for a walk in the park right next to where I live, called Leazes Park (I live in Leazes Terrace)…. And took some photos… Not a lot… only a few. Went there a bit too late, so the light wasn’t really bright enough for good photos… anyway….

Beautiful view, with lots of birds (ducks, swans, geese, seagulls, pidgeons, etc)

Must remember to bring bread the next time I go~!!

busy busy busy

Been reallly busy trying to get ready for my grouo presentation… *sigh* the topic is really really tough…. " Does Globalization inevitably lead to the Americanization of cultures?" Have to discuss on theories of Globalization and Americanization and research on a nation or region. *sigh* Been having meetings at least once a week for the past 5 weeks, and consecutively for the past 5 days…..Another tomorrow morning right before the presentation (11 am… wish me luck people!)

Apart from the, the heating and hot water in Leazes (where I live) is down…. Chatted with one of the porters here today, was told that it’s because a boiler is leaking. They’re fixing it, but it needs to be changed… so we’d probably get interruptions for a while yet? God I hope not. No heating is bad enough…. no hot water!!! *shudders*

guy fawkes night

Sunday, November 5th, 2006

17 FANTASTIC night out…. Just came back from the Guy Fawkes celebration with some friends… the Fireworks were superb! I’ll just post 1 here, the rest is available in my photobucket

It was about 15 minutes walk away from the university. Went along with the International Society. No bonfire though at the one we went, which was quite dissapointing. I can still hear fireworks outside from the other locations. I think it started since 4pm. The place we went to had these brilliant non-stop fireworks for half and hour! Which was incredible!

Fantastic!
