~Another day in an insane mind~

Today is Chinese New Year, day 1~! *bounces around* Went to China town with a group of friends for the festival. Was very crowded. At least I got to see the lion and unicorns~! *grins* I forgot to bring my camera… *smacks head* But I DID take some photos with my phone. Here’s one of them…..

Very surprised that I could actually squish myself through the crowd to SEE it! Helps that we were waiting at the spot for an hour before that, waiting for it to come over. I swear the whole of Newcastle and the surrounding areas were there!!

A bit dissapointed that there aren’t more food stuff sold…. specially the CNY ones that are YUMMY! *drools* But we did go to Double Happiness restaurant for dim sum… so that was fun~! *grins* Had a great time with friends~ That’s all that counts I guess!

Hmm… went to watch Miss Potter last night, and just came back from Apocalypto tonight….

Hmmmmmm………………

You just can’t get more different, these 2 movies….

SPOILER ALERT for those of you who haven’t seen the movie…

Miss Potter… Fluffy feel good movie. Nice colour, bright and pastle… with CUTE sketches of Peter Rabbit and gang… Though Ewan McGregor needs to rethink that moustache… *grimace* AND he got to sing… again….

Apocalypto….. Err… What can I say….. It’s directed by Mel Gibson…. I’m a big ancient civilization buff…. so was interesting watching what I’ve read come to life…. though a friend of mine (a Mexican) and I were sort of whispering to and for while watching nit-picking at the details of what is historically correct or NOT~ *grins* Anyway….. The first half was good… up until the "hero" starts to run away…… The plot just goes off…. along with the belivability and crediblity. The end was just…. Urgh~ The animatronic animals were fake throughout the movie as well….. *wince* The colours were grungy and documentary-ish, which was fab. Plus… a large amount of blood and gore…. and wounds…. and decapitation…. and headless bodies….. and slavery….. Anyway… all in all… enjoyed the first part (blood, gore and all…..) but detest the second half.

So I found myself actually enjoying a fluffy movie MORE than an epic one! *raises eyebrows* Hmmm…..

Anyway, worth a mention is that I saw the trailer for Pathfinder~!! *squeeeeeeeeeee*s. Karl Urban looking good. *grins* The friends I went with all turned to glance at me when I let out that squeal when it came on…. I had no idea that Karl Urban was IN it… let alone the STAR….  I suddenly shot straight up in my seat when his face flashed on larger than life…. sort of choked out "karl~?!"…….

…………. Not one of my best moments…..

*ahem*

Anyway, not quite getting over my shock when my friends asked me what’s going on…. so I babbled something about him being Karl Urban…. Kiwi actor and all that….. And saw eyebrows going higher and higher~! *snorts* One friend asked me "how on EARTH did u recognise the guy underneath all that MUD? and in semi darkness no less…" Told them he’s Eomer in LOTR…. and got a lot more groans… and "ahhhh…"s… and "I see…."s…….

It’s no secret I like LOTR… *pouts* I’ve even gotten 5 of them interested in 300 a few months ago~! *grins*
