Big Brother of M&Ms

Monday, July 30th, 2007

For those of you who know me for… more than 1 week, you’d probably know I usually don’t like sweet stuff, right?

*sigh* I’ve gave up trying to explain to the friends here why I started buying M&Ms and Minstrels…. because I honestly have no idea why…. It started when a friend of mine (you know who you are….) introduced me to Minstrels when we went to watch HP movie 5 about a fortnight ago….

I bought a packet of M&Ms, because I needed the change and those were the only choc.s I’ve had before that were on sale at the cinema….. We were queuing up at the counter when I saw a bag in my friend’s hands and innocently asked the aforementioned friend what Minstrels are…. and recieved a raised eyebrow and the reply "The Big Brother of M&Ms…."

Inside the theatre, when she opened the bag and showed me the contents….. to my shock she wasn’t kidding….

Holy cow… talk about Big Brothers!

It tasted exactly like M&Ms as well…. Just…. chunkier….
Couldn’t finish my bag of M&Ms that night…. brought it back to my room… and left it there.

HP book 7 arrives…..

You know when you have the urge to chew stuff? But you’re not really hungry? Specially when you’re reading…. Well… that happened to me during mid book. I started on the M&Ms… and next thing I know, I’ve finished the whole pack……

*headdesk*

For some godforsaken reason after finishing the packet of M&Ms (just in time for the ending of the book too) I had the urge for more! It was sickeningly sweet at most times, but damn, they’re addictive!!! The day after, we (yes, that same friend, this time joined by another….) went to lunch at a sushi bar, and ended up at the choc. section of a mall for afters…. and yes…. I picked up a bag of Minstrels….

And then 2 days later, I went grocery shopping…. M&Ms was on sale… *facepalm*

See a trend here?
And this goes on….. and on….. and on…… and on…….

I’ve been snacking non-stop on M&Ms and Minstrels since then….. and obssessed enough to take the photo shown up there… *points the middle of this entry*

And I don’t BLOODY even LIKE sweets!!!!!!

HP book 7 part 3

*emerges from the aforementioned Black Hole*

~phew~ That was intense….. I’m not sure what I feel about some of it…. Feeling gutted at some bits…. incredulous at others…

7 years of following this series…. and it has ended…… The HP universe marks the begining and the end of my Uni life…. Will explain this in detail in another post… when I’m less braindead. 15 hours of solid reading in 1 day (apart from the occasional rests for sustenance and pit-stops) really ‘avada kadavra’ one’s brain….

Hmmm….. REALLY don’t know what I feel about it……. One part doesn’t want it to end… the other is just glad that the mystery is over and done with…..

Oh well…..  *shrugs*

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12th Night~!

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

Went to an outdoor play at Jesmond Dene park today~ By the Heartbreak production. Shakespear’s 12th Night~!!!! One of my fav.s~! *grins*

We weren’t sure of our way to where the play was held, but we blindly charged onwards (thank goodness for the maps and directions printed out due to the farsightedness of a friend) Found the place quickly enough….. Pretty park, I must say~ Really reminds me of Faramir’s Fair Ithilien~! *grins* To be fair, eveyrhing reminds me of Faramir…. *unabashed grin*

Bought the tickets (7 pounds for students~) and found out that we didn’t bring blankets to sit on… the grass was sort of wet. We were offered a bin bag to sit on from the production guys, and then thank goodness for a kind Lady who lent us her blanket, because she bought one just in case!!!! (we eneded up passing the bin bag to another group who came later one without a blanket as well…. but they had food….)
Waited a while, and found that everyone else apart from us 3 brought a picnic!!!!! We were oogling at other people’s food, and pouting that we didn’t bring anything to eat as well~!! To this we made a firm resolution to do this again, but at the other plays that will be on sometime next month, either Merchant of Venice, or Wizard of Oz…. JUST for the picnic!!! *grins*

While waiting (and still pouting at the lack of picnic on our borrowed blanket) we chatted for a while. The production people had hats with hands on it…. THAT was bizzare…. *sweatdrops*

The play itself was pretty good! Very innovative, and the visuals were pretty fun! They had very fun stuff, and ideas that added a lot of spice into an already crazy comedy~ *grins* The oddest thing was that during mid-play, wildlife decided to join in! *grins* We were sitting RIGHT in front of the stage on the grass, and a little duckling went waddling across from below the stage!!!!! It was ADORABLE!!!! It was seriously cute!

It waddled following the bottom of the stage towards our end, and went past us…. and went into the actor’s tent at the back of the stage! I was terrified it might get stepped on since it’s so tiny and they don’t know its there!!!!!!!

The weather was a bit too cold (which would have been fine had we had a PICNIC~) but at least it didn’t rain. There were a few moments of anxiety when we felt a few droplets, but it didn’t happen…..

Had to run to catch the bus after the show. All in all a very enjoyable experience!!!! We’re already planning of bringing an overthetop picnic for the next one just to make up for this!!!! *LOL*

Want to sketch more, but my table lamp blew last night…….

HP movie 5~!! at last~

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

Just back from the movies~!!! Finally got to see HP5, after waiting for such a long time! I must say….. this was pretty brill~!! Think this and POA are my fav. from the movies so far~

Fantastic acting from the adult department~ *grins* And well worth mentioning are Luna Lovegood and the Weasley Twins!!! Fantastic. These 2 happen to be my fav. kiddie characters in the book as well~ 3 cheers for Looney Luna, Gred and Forge!

I cheered when Bellatrix came onto the movie screen… *blushes* I’m a sucker for that character!! Its just so well designed (and portrayed) that she’s the perfect ‘baddie’~!!!!! She’s so crazily nasty she’s just WONDERFULL!!!! I was transfixed on her pretty much whenever she was onscreen!!
Also brilliant acting from Umbridge!!!! She’s is just a nasty piece of work!!!! Pretty much as nasty as in the Books!!!

Love Tonks…. Kingsley…. Had a slightly different design for the Demontors from POA, maybe because of the LOTR ring wraiths….

Sirius…. *swoons* …. ’nuff said…

Pretty bummed that Remus did not score even 1 single dialogue line!!! Heck.. I still cheered when he came on screen… Definately still my fav. character in HP…

Though stuff are not as intense emotionally as it is in the books….. one can’t expect everything from it to be translated onto the big screen, I guess… Some slight plot changes as well… Probably just not to introduce even MORE characters that non-book readers wouldn’t know….. MUCH MUCH less angst from the books as well, probably to fit into PG12 movie….. Wouldn’t it be just too ironic if they managed to make a R rated Harry Potter movie? *snorts* Probably the last movie…. what with all the rumours of so many characters dying….

Which brings me to my next point… the BOOK! Book 7 out in a week’s time!!!!! *bounces off walls in anticipation* Amazon had better deliver my book on time!!! *glares at laptop screen*

*sigh*
