12th Night~!
Went to an outdoor play at Jesmond Dene park today~ By the Heartbreak production. Shakespear’s 12th Night~!!!! One of my fav.s~! *grins*
We weren’t sure of our way to where the play was held, but we blindly charged onwards (thank goodness for the maps and directions printed out due to the farsightedness of a friend) Found the place quickly enough….. Pretty park, I must say~ Really reminds me of Faramir’s Fair Ithilien~! *grins* To be fair, eveyrhing reminds me of Faramir…. *unabashed grin*
Bought the tickets (7 pounds for students~) and found out that we didn’t bring blankets to sit on… the grass was sort of wet. We were offered a bin bag to sit on from the production guys, and then thank goodness for a kind Lady who lent us her blanket, because she bought one just in case!!!! (we eneded up passing the bin bag to another group who came later one without a blanket as well…. but they had food….)
Waited a while, and found that everyone else apart from us 3 brought a picnic!!!!! We were oogling at other people’s food, and pouting that we didn’t bring anything to eat as well~!! To this we made a firm resolution to do this again, but at the other plays that will be on sometime next month, either Merchant of Venice, or Wizard of Oz…. JUST for the picnic!!! *grins*
While waiting (and still pouting at the lack of picnic on our borrowed blanket) we chatted for a while. The production people had hats with hands on it…. THAT was bizzare…. *sweatdrops*
The play itself was pretty good! Very innovative, and the visuals were pretty fun! They had very fun stuff, and ideas that added a lot of spice into an already crazy comedy~ *grins* The oddest thing was that during mid-play, wildlife decided to join in! *grins* We were sitting RIGHT in front of the stage on the grass, and a little duckling went waddling across from below the stage!!!!! It was ADORABLE!!!! It was seriously cute!
It waddled following the bottom of the stage towards our end, and went past us…. and went into the actor’s tent at the back of the stage! I was terrified it might get stepped on since it’s so tiny and they don’t know its there!!!!!!!
The weather was a bit too cold (which would have been fine had we had a PICNIC~) but at least it didn’t rain. There were a few moments of anxiety when we felt a few droplets, but it didn’t happen…..
Had to run to catch the bus after the show. All in all a very enjoyable experience!!!! We’re already planning of bringing an overthetop picnic for the next one just to make up for this!!!! *LOL*
Want to sketch more, but my table lamp blew last night…….
