trip to edinburgh
Didn’t manage to sleep last night… So gave up trying at 5am to cook some breakie, went off the the train station and took the 7.50 am train to Edinburgh today….
Absolutely BRILLIANT trip! Pity it rained the entire day! So not a lot of really pretty photos, as the city would well warrant much more than I could wrangle out today…. Anyways, clicky for piccies~

Went to the food festival first…. ate loads of different types of stuff (loads of salmon, and whiskey….) Then went to the Castle.
*still swooning at castle sights*
I wish I had more time (like… the WHOLE week) to explore the place!!!!
Anyway…. managed to brisk walk the entire castle (with photo taking between paces….) and juggling between a brolly, a camera and a bag going in and out of different sections and museums within the castle….. Managed to break my brolly too! *sniff* There goes my trusty old friend for nearly 1 year!!!
Bought another miniature sword, a Highland Claymore replica this time. I couldn’t resist! Will be added to the collection at home one day! (yes, I collect swords… replica or the real stuff…. REALLY wanted to buy a real one from one of the arms shops I went to after the castle thingy, but just not feasible to spend 50 pounds and drag something that’s around 20 kilos back in my luggage…… Though I KNOW I’ll regret not getting it…. Macleod Broadsword~ *swoons* The movie replica, methinks~)
Anyway…..
Met back up with my friend after my castle tour…. went back to the foodie place to eat more samples and buy some stuff back to Newcastle (cider and salmon! YUM… wanted to get more, but wallet is suffering….)
Was having drink before the train (at 7pm) when we somehow realised that we get to take the 1st class seat back to Newcastle! *cheers*
No idea why…. Went to ask the information, was told that it IS our correct seats…. No different than normal ticket prices! (actually, might be slightly cheaper even?) So, not going to look a gift horse in its mouth and enjoyed the nice comfy large curl-able seats back….
Arrive back in my room at around…. 9pm… Decided to get something to eat (canned irish stew… campbells) and edit and upload my photos from today with Celtic music blaring from my laptop (which is still on now….. a CD bought from Amazon that I ADORE!)
Very scot - themed today!!!
Tired… should have been working on my dissertation…. but…. Meh…~!!
