~Another day in an insane mind~

There’s a big festival for the Chinese…. its called the Mooncake Festival. Its the day when the moon is at its fullest in the 15th day, 8th month (Chinese Lunar Calander) Its a big day with loads of food and even more taboos and myths.

The Malaysian Chinese celebrate this with traditional lanterns as well…. so my cousin and I wanted to do that….. but here, being UK, we couldn’t find the stuff we needed to make it (i.e bamboo sticks, glass coloured paper)…. and we didn’t go to the chinese stores the weekend before (moment of blindness… *sigh*)

So on that day (tuesday) we thought and thought and thought… trying to make use of stuff that is around the house…. and came up with a brilliant plan!

Really cool since I grew up with Pooh stories and 100 aker woods….

I’m now living in Hertfordshire, North of London!!! The moving last week was….. hectic… to say the least…. I swear my right arm is 5 cm longer than it was now!!

Spent early last week lounging around at my new room at my cousin’s place and getting stuff set up. Buying bits of new furniture, storage boxes, stuff like that. Don’t have a table yet. So no sketches since… Not that I have my pencil with me anyway…. its in the boxes coming down….
The rest of my stuff will be here on Wed! *cheers* Then, I’d be officially ‘moved-in’! Might (?) need to get a few more storage boxes to organise stuff when the time comes~ Hope not, don’t think I have so much stuff anyway…. but that’s also what I thought before I started packing my stuff up in Newcastle…. *faints*

The last few days were brilliant…! Was my cousin’s birthday…. so they took thursday and friday off…. and had a LOOOONG weekend. Thursday, we went to Pooh Country! That was fantastic! Will post some photos soon. More lounging and garden work after that…. Had a nice BBQ on Friday night in the garden~ Then, was also another couins in-law’s birthday, so had a joint celebration thingy on Sat…. Finally, more lounging on Sundays….. Brilliant!

Have started to apply for a few today. Hopefully will get something interesting. Am not applying for graphic design positions yet, since my portfolio and stuff are in the boxes on their way here….

All in all…. very good week (apart from the moving down here… that was a LOOOOOOOONG day….) and ready to start the next chapter of my life living in London~!! Cheers!
