John Williamson
Hm… Never thought I’d like country music so much…. *grin*
Splurged a bit and bought a John Williamson (Aussie Country folk singer) 3CD compilation (best of the best and all that rot) and am loving it! Brilliant!! Loved his song Home among the Gum trees, Old man Emu and Waltzing Matilda…. Now, I have other songs that I found I really like, such as the vasectomy song (*giggles*) and And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda.
First heard him sing when I watched the Steve Irwin memorial service a year or so ago….. Listening to his songs I wish I could have known about him sooner so I’d have been able to add him into my CF2 (MA dissertation) presentation on Australian culture! Some of them are absolutely perfect! Oh well, over and done with~
